I'm a passionated and award winning landscape photographer, but love to make portraits and many other forms of artful photography. Yet model photography is getting more and more important for me and I am studying several ways to combine these categories.
Our world is turbulent, noisy and full of distraction. For me, nature and scenic beauty provide an important part of my need for stillness. As a passionated landscape photographer I find calm by the wonder I experience there, along the paths, uphill, down by the sea. As a continuation I try to create silence, comfortable places of rest, by extending this sense into my images.
As a physician I'm also fascinated by the beauty and magic of the human body. I love to show the delicate forms in portraits, the gentle curves of shoulders, backside or legs. Both the landscape and corps have their wonderful allurement, but they are also changeable and vulnerable at the same time. That's why I love to depict them related to each other. Thinking of transientness while imaging this beauty, moves me to a bitter-sweet and addictive form of melancholy.
When I ask a model to be there, in front of my camera, in a studio, urban location or preferably outdoor, it will be with that brilliance and tenderness in my mind. Covered, parts or (semi)nude, my images will always be non-vulgar and respectful, being conscious about the beauty and art of nature, including the human body.

Recently I made another transition by going back again to medium format film photography. I love the character of black and white film.
