Haarlem is a lovely town. I visited the Franz Hals museum there many years ago. This image has a captivating "creepiness" because the skull totally covers her torso.

Btw at this moment there is a huge special exhibition of Frans Hals,s work at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. One of the good things of aa small country is that within 1 hr I have work of Frans Hals, Rembrandt, van Gogh and Mondriaan close by.
