In reading a biography of Yousuf Karsh recently, I learned that in the 1930s he did some nudes of his wife, Solange. This image is based on one of the poses they used. In the past, I had always thought Karsh strictly did fully clothed portraits of famous people. My model slightly modified the pose shown in in Maria Tippett's book titled "Portrait in Light and Shadow: The Life of Yousuf Karsh"
