This image uses the seventeenth-century technique of a picture within a picture, here 'Breakfast' by the great Golden Age still-life artist Willem Claeszoon Heda. Light falls upon the model and objects within the photograph as it does on those within the painting, and some - the jewelled belt, for example - are objects of a similar type. 'Breakfast' is now in The Hermitage in St Petersburg.
