The painting is The Procuress, by Dirck van Baburen of c.1620. Like other examples of my work this photograph uses the seventeenth-century technique of the painting within a painting, and The Procuress is particularly appropriate because at one stage it belonged to Jan Vermeer and appears in two of his surviving paintings.
