I am a guy who comes to photography after years of fine arts work. I have been serious about photography since 2014. Been making progress, but keep learning how much I don't know, so I still feel like a novice. I am drawn to photograph the same subjects that I have drawn, that is, people and their surroundings.I am passionate about getting good portraits, especially environmental ones, also love figure work, and pictures that tell a story.
I am inspired by my love of great artists of the past, especially the Old Masters of the 16-17th centuries. I have been trying to catch some of that feel they had with my relatively new medium, the digital camera.
I hope to be able to find models to work with, great locations to shoot people in, and opportunities to learn new skills.

"Godess" by the way started as a white background, the rest is layers in Photoshop.
Thank you Fred! I have only four backdrops in studio; white, black, brown and fantasy cloth. I layer textures in Photoshop to modify the backdrops. That gives me lots of options in presenting the subject.

I was just checking out yours too, I'm most impressed. You consistently nail these lovely figure studies! And I must ask, are a lot of these using your own painted backdrops?
