Prints and Revenue Sharing
-
How does print pricing work?
As a Model Society member you can sell prints of your work here at the Model Society website. When you make a print available for sale you’ll be asked to chose an aspect ratio and set a % for each print type. Simply choose the aspect ratio that most closely matches your original image.
Model Society charges a base price for every print that covers our costs and contributes to the platform. The % that you choose for each print type will increase the base price by that amount and those extra funds go entirely to the creator(s) of the image.
For example:- A $10 print with a markup percentage of 50% would sell for $15 and the artist would get $5.
- A $10 print with a markup percentage of 100% would sell for $20 and the artist would get $10.
You can purchase prints of your own work for our base price without any additional markup.

What is revenue sharing?
The revenue share feature at Model Society makes it easy for community members to share the rewards of their combined efforts. When someone assigns you revenue share for an image you created together, you automatically share the profits from all print sales of that image.

What is the benefit of sharing revenue?
The Modeling Arts are unique in that almost every image is created by at least two people. We want to support you in creating and collaborating in all new ways. The revenue share feature allows you to focus on creativity, collaboration and teamwork, so you don’t have to worry about who gets what.
Revenue sharing gives everyone who worked on an image an opportunity to share in the profits from sales. It also gives everyone a reason to promote new prints, no matter what roll they played in the creation of the image.
While many artists and photographers have loyal collectors who purchase their prints, models often have their own enormous fan followings, who are eager to purchase images of them, as amazing works of art. -
Is revenue sharing optional?
Revenue sharing is always optional. You can enable it for each individual image or you can ignore it completely. Community members are always free to make whatever agreements they want regarding copyrights and compensation. Revenue sharing is a feature we added as a convenience for those who choose to work this way.
You should always have a model release form or an agreement of some kind, so you are both are clear about what to expect from each other. -
How are profits shared? How much do I get for each print?
When you enable revenue sharing for a print, the profits are split equally amongst the collaborators who created the print. If there are two collaborators, you share the profits 50-50. If there are three collaborators the profits are shared in thirds.
Our intention is to make it easy for you to trust that everyone will be compensated fairly and to make collaborations mutually beneficial and frictionless as possible.
Revenue share is optional and you can always make different agreements with your collaborators.
