Chopin Nocturne in C sharp Minor

Erin is an accomplished violinist that has played background violin music for The Prairie Home Companion show, amongst others. When she comes to stay with me, I usually ask her to bring her violin along so she can play for me in the evenings. I only photographed her one time playing, and that was hard to do as I could not concentrate with that beautiful music.

I knew as soon as I saw this image that she was a real artist playing in her zone. This is a concept I have wanted to shoot ever since I realized how much soul a violin can have. My one effort with a different young woman (named Erin as well) got me some nice images, but I deeply want to do this again. thank you for the reminder!
You have a couple of nice images of Mel with the violin. They can't pretend to be playing when you shoot. Never looks the same as when they are actually playing and you catch the real emotion, although subtle in the face. Thank you, Fred for the nice comment.
