Fair as the Moon Terrible as an Army with Banners

Song of Solomon 6:10 (KJV)
Oil on canvas 36 x 48 with glazed foil.
The archaic language is misleading and instead refers to the sublimely beautiful visions of the stars, the Moon, and the approaching dawn from the pitch-black night in which the Milky Way coalesces into a banner carried by the stars. In reality, the woman (or the Bride) is incomparably beautiful, even to these wonders.
