Collaboration System and Shared Credits
-
What is the collaboration system?
When you create something at Model Society, you shine on the same pedestal as your collaborators.
At Model Society, everyone who helped make an image possible gets notified of comments, page views, gallery inclusions and other community feedback equally. Every collaboration displays shared credits, so new fans can discover your work and easily check out both of your profiles.
-
How does the collaboration system work?
When members upload new images, they have the option to easily 'tag' other community members as collaborators. When someone gives you credit as a collaborator, you can approve or decline the collaboration.
When you approve a collaboration, your credits (and a link to you profile) will appear wherever the image appears.
-
How do I use collaboration images in my portfolio?
When someone uploads an image and gives you credit as a collaborator, you will have the option to include it in your portfolio (the same as if you had uploaded it yourself). You might choose to display them all or select just your favorites. You will have complete access to all of the images in which you are credited. You have complete control over which images appear in your portfolio. You can turn images on or off at any time.
When you work with a lot of talented people you will enjoy a steady stream of new portfolio images to choose from, without having to upload anything.
TIP: if you and someone else upload the same image, you can credit each other without having duplicates appear in your portfolio. After you approve a collaboration, you will be able to turn it ON or OFF at any time and only one version of the image will appear in your portfolio.
-
What if I created an image with someone who is not at Model Society?
To attribute credit to a collaborator who has not yet joined Model Society, you can add credits and copyright information to the description field, when you edit images. This will appear right underneath your image.
If you want your collaborators to enjoy all the great features of Model Society, invite them to join! :) -
Do collaborations affect my storage limits?
Your portfolio can contain unlimited collaborations that have been uploaded by other community members! If you collaborate with talented and prolific community members, you might have hundreds of new images you can choose to display in your portfolio.
-
Who controls collaboration images?
The person who uploads the image is the image owner. The image owner has control over collaborator credits, revenue sharing, comment moderation and sales status. The image owner can also add images to the print store, delete an image or remove it from the store at any time. Image owners can also remove collaborator credits.
-
What if I no longer want to be associated with an image?
If you made a mistake, or if you really do not want to be associated with an image, you can cancel your collaboration credit at any time. Your screen name, avatar and credits will no longer appear on the image.
-
If other people are crediting me as a collaborator why do I need to upload anything?
It’s a good idea to maintain at least some of your own uploaded images in your portfolio. Although you will have shared credit on collaborations, the image owner (the person who uploads it) can delete the image or remove it from the Model Society print store at any time. By uploading your own images, you can ensure that your portfolio will have your favorite works always available to share with the world.
-
What happens when someone deletes an image for which I have been credited?
You will receive a notification that the image has been deleted by the image owner and the image will no longer appear at Model Society.
