a celebration of human beauty

Woman with milk and bread

With the creation of this image I've used the Dutch painter Vermeer as an inspiration for the setting, lighting and subject. With depicting the model partly undressed I wanted to add a sense of non-sexual sensuality and ask the viewer to adapt to a more openminded view of non-sexual nudity within photography which is often present in paintings. I would love to hear your critique!

Love this. Beautiful. It reminds me of something... now let me see.. hmmm!!

This image caught my eye and I immediately recognized the influence. It’s a beautiful image and you’ve executed it splendidly!

Thank you Xaina! I really appreciate your words!

The Vermeer inspiration is instantly recognizable, and I don't think there is anything sexual about this.in this setting. Perhaps if it's invoking a memory or a promise, but we can simply admire the splendid beauty of a lovely callimastian young woman. The dress, the tattoo and her hair color do give this a modern vibe, but that's fine -- I like the conversation of art with its precedents. Always interesting!

Thank you Randall, and you described it well, a “conversation of art with its precedents”!

Nice antique feel to the image, also looks like something from a french small country house

Thank you!

Well done, I think you have exceeded your style goals. The tattoos on her left arm do kind of kill the vibe.

Thank you Rick!

Beautiful and inspirational work, I certainly agree that nudity need not be sexual.

Like a classic painting ---well done

Thank you!
