My grandfather was an amateur photographer. When I turned fifteen, he gave me a couple of his cameras - a 35mm Leica, and a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 double lens Rollieflex. I immediately started photographing figures - mostly girlfriends, male friends, anyone who would pose for me. I have loved the human figure as a sacred crucible of line and curve, shape - and an earthly container for spirit, wonder, wisdom, and beauty.
