My focus is on people and sensual moody portraits.

Sensual melancholia is probably the best term to describe many of my works, such as the “dorso”, „that attic window“ and “of fears and sorrow” series. Through artistic film photography, with the use of old photographic and alternative processes, experiments, hybrid and mixed media applications, I try to transport and accomplish intense moods.

Working on my people photography projects is more of an easy minded collaboration with my models and photo partners than your regular “stand here, do that shooting”. The use of film photography is essential for this process, for the model and me alike. We can let loose and concentrate on the vision in our heads without the immediate control of a display.

All this people photography work is broken up by the one or other urban or landscape photography project, showing the unusual in the usual.

Since a few years I educate pupils in mostly analog creative photography techniques at a local school. It’s one of the most fulfilling things I have done to date. Well, except for having own kids 😉
