about Soul Elixir Studios

Female

I was lucky enough to be born to parents who harbored a great appreciation for music and the arts. As soon as I could walk, I could be found at the piano or reaching for a 110 film camera. My dad's Polaroid was probably the most fascinating object in the house, and I coveted the moment he would click that button and I could run around the house with the film, waiting for the image to appear.

I lived my life from behind the lens for many years. From shooting manually to processing my own B&W prints, I found there's something a picture can do to express a piece of the soul that words or music just can't. Something felt lacking, though. I had caught precious moments and sunsets and landscapes, but felt that the human body deserved some attention as well, and I wasn't about to ask anyone to get vulnerable with me. So, with more than 30 years with a camera in hand and 15 of those in serious study of the art, I switched my focus to in front of the lens.

I have been modeling for photography since 2010, but became serious about nude art late 2014. I feel that full body-love and acceptance is vital to thrive in today's society. My hope is that one day the human body will stop being oversexualized, and that every living being may become comfortable in their own skin. This is apparent as I employ my own vulnerability and discipline to also explore self-portraiture as a platform for expression quite often.

At one point I realized how much I missed being behind the lens. I see striking and brilliant beings who have absolutely no clue how much beauty I see in them. It's shocking, and I want to change that.

The need to show a reflection of my perspective and perception is all-consuming. I feel compelled to capture those moments. And I will. Feel free to follow my adventures, or join me if you dare. What you will find is a mirror of the highest light, that elixir that will quench, nurture, and heal your soul.
