about Philip Young
Male
Currently residing in the wine country of northern California, I lived 10 years overseas in Hong Kong, the Dominican Republic and Mexico where I gained fluency in Spanish. Growing up in New England, I was exposed to art at an early age by my grandfather, Walter E. Baum, a noted Pennsylvania impressionist landscape painter. My interests include art, international travel, hiking, biking, pickleball, wine and photography with a focus on the beauty of nature and the female figure.
In 2013, I was one of 12 photographers from around the world who participated in Joel Belmont's Dynamic Nude Photography Workshop at Lake Powell, an incredible experience photographing figure models in dramatic natural settings. Conversations with Miguel Soler-Roig, the Spanish photographer on the trip, led to an invitation to join his 2014 Spain Workshop Tour of historic Andalusian sites from Granada to Sevilla including the Alhambra. A selection of our photos has been exhibited at art museums in Spain. I also attended Kim Weston's nude figure workshop at the Wildcat Hill studio & home of his grandfather, Edward Weston, in Carmel, CA.
Your portfolio is truly stunning and does great justice to the wonder that is the female form.
An absolutely marvellous portfolio, full of inspirational work!
