about Neil Jacobson
In case it isn't clear upon first viewing, my avatar is not a photo of myself. It is of a model that I have worked with several times and for whom I have a great deal of respect. Her modeling name is Rebecca Lawrence and if you ever have an opportunity to work with her jump at it. Note that she doesn't have an account on Model Society but, I have been trying to convince her to join.
So for me, I have degrees in business finance and electrical engineering, but I've been a photographer from the time that I got my first 35 mm SLR in 1973. Since I was at Ground Zero on 9/11 and did recovery work there for a few months I became disabled (persistent P.T.S.D.). To occupy my time and mind since I no longer work I have greatly increased my use of photography. I now work with a Canon Digital SLR, but I also continue to shoot with 645 and 6 x 6 medium formats and 35 mm film cameras. My work is primarily with paid models that I photograph on location as well as at various places indoors. I use a three strobe flash setup for indoor shoots. I have a large living room in my home that I have converted into a studio. I do photography for my self, but I hope that the images I post here have an aesthetic appeal for anybody that takes the time to view them. Since I live in a two bedroom apartment I offer the use of the bedroom that I don't sleep in for hosting. I don't make a distinction between models that I'd be photographing or models that are just passing through. If a stop in Knoxville is necessary I will happily open the room (with full size bed) for hosting at no charge. So c'mon by.
