about Neil Jacobson

I am an experienced "female nude" photographer. Light is my palette. I try to create images that attract, engage, and challenge the viewer.

I use a variety of tools to accomplish my goal. These include two DSLR's (a Canon T3i and a T6i), film (Minolta 35 mm, Bronica 645, and Hasselblad 6x6), and computer manipulation.

I don't try to use a specific style. I think it's more interesting to experiment. As I've heard it said it's better to try and fail gloriously than not to try at all.

Visit my portfolio to see what I have done so far on this journey. See if it's something you want to be a part of.

Note that I'm currently in Chattanooga. It's about the mid-point between Atlanta and Nashville on I-75 and I-24.and Knoxville to the North on I-75.
Chattanooga is an oasis near the Smokey Mountains.

** Please note that as a rule, I do not pay deposits in advance for photoshoots**

**Also, note that I will not pay late or no-show fees if there is a reasonable cause for not showing up**

If you object to either of the above conditions, do not contact me for a photo shoot. Since the Model Release has not been executed, there is no standing to enforce either scenario described above.

The model's only remedy is to not work with me in the future

  • Follow up -I was reading some of the comments here and feel compelled to revise what I wrote before. I commented in a very harsh way to an experience that I think need revisiting. I'm referring to my message about Rebecca Lawrence. She modeled for me more than any other model on this site. I don't know where she is or what she's doing. We just had a falling out. I'm not blaming her. I don't know where she is or what she's doing If I could take that comment back. I'd do it in a heartbeat. Things that we communicate in anger can be lessons in how not to conduct our selves. Just keep in mind that the person on the other side of the camera has human emotions and try to see through their eyes.

  • Thanks, Modella Foto -

It's kind of like Love in the time of Covid.

  • Wonderful portfolio.

  • You have a superb portfolio and, being a music maniac myself, I love how you have used phrases from songs. Onward with your journey!

  • Thank you for the image comment! Yes, she is gorgeous!

  • Thank you Neil! I try to keep it interesting.

  • I would love to get a chance to work together sometime! I've never been to TN to shoot!

  • Thanks Lisa. And you should have a great weekend too.

  • Neil,
Thank you for information on the photograph and keep up the great work that you do.
    Thank you,

  • Good morning to you Lisa. I agree with you that Ivy is special. And the shoot that this photo came from was very productive. Well I'll wish you good Memoial Day.

    Yours truly,

  • Tony -

I am very pleased that you like my photo. If you ever have the opportunity to work with Amelia don't hesitate. She's beautiful.

  • Hello Chelseajo -

Thank you for your great comment. It makes it worthwhile to continue my photography. But, I must say that if I hadn't been able to work with wonderful models that I wouldn't have been able to do this otherwise.

    Thanks again.

P.S. I checked your site page and your photos are beautiful. Maybe we could work together sometime in the future.

  • Beautiful work. I love the retro historic feeling of your photographs and creative use of lighting. Very talented indeed. Sometimes less is more, and your skill allows the true beauty of the entire image to be taken as a whole.. Amazing, thank you for sharing your obvious talent here.

  • I have been away on vacation and was very happy to find your kind words about one of my images. Thank you.

  • Mr. Neil,
Thank you for the comment on a photograph. I also agree, Rebecca is a great one to work with.
    Thank you,

    • Tommy-2'S -

Without going into detail I have to say that Rebecca did something with me that was very unprofessional and I will not be working with her or recommending her any longer. It has nothing to do with her talent so I don't see why you should not work with her given the opportunity. I'm not perfect and make mistakes from time to time in this business but this incident was all hers.
