George Vardakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1968. He lives and works in Heraklion, Crete.He started photography in 1997, and in particular with macro photography. To 2010 began courses for amateur photographers in the Hellenik Photographic Society of Crete (EFEK). He is an active member ever since.
He participated for the first time in international and local photographic competitions in 2011. Many of his works have been published in national and international exhibitions after successful presences in respective competitions (USA, Slovenia, Netherlands, Argentina, China, Serbia, Germany, China, etc.). Taking part in international photographic competitions has won major awards in numerous medals and several Honorable mentions and diplomas. The photographic works MEMORIES, GIVE ME YOUR HAND and LOST IN MEMORIES selected and published by the National Geographic Magazine. Distinguished works have taken part in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
In 2013 publishes together with Nikiforakis Polychronis, photo album titled {3 days, 2 photographers, 1 event} themed by the MATALA FESTIVAL 2012.
In 2016 publishes together with the Helvetian photographer and friend, Charles Weber, the book <National Road>.
He is a member of the HPS (Greek Photographic Society), the E.F.E.K. (Hellenic Photographic Society of Crete), the SILLE SANAT SARAYI, the GPU (Global Photographic Union), of FIAP and PSA (PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA).
From 2014 to 2016 he was General Registrar of E.F.E.K.
