about ClearFigure

Male

As a figurative artist I've been taking photos for years as references for drawings, and I continue to draw from photos as well as from life. Recently I've picked up the camera to take photos for their own merits.

In keeping with the figurative theme I focus on the figure and anatomy. I usually prefer standing poses as they show the structure and inherent beauty of the female form and figure, but I also like the bold and provocative. I often like to use props that provoke - that are a departure from the organic, incongruous or outrageous and sometimes as a visual metaphor or to create a visual metaphor. I almost always shoot with natural daylight.
