about Bruno Birkhofer

Bruno Birkhofer’s nude and portrait photographs have received numerous awards for their sensitive and respectful mode of expression. Early on Bruno felt a deep affinity to photography, however he concentrated on graphic and screen designs for many years. But his love for photography never left him and so, in 2008, he decided to follow his great passion and began to focus on photography. During the last ten years, Bruno has photographed for magazines from Switzerland, the US and England.

In addition to international publications, Bruno won the Monochrome Award in 2014 and became «Nude Discovery Photographer of the Year». Apart from many «Honourable Mentions» he won the gold medal in the «Nude» section in the worldwide largest international photo contest «Trierenberg Super Circuit» in 2015 and 2017.

Today Bruno shares his knowledge and his passion in photo workshops and coaching. He offers beginners’ courses and portfolio workshops as well as high-end Photoshop-retouching sessions.

BRUNOS STATEMENT

Photography to me means passion, emotion and individuality without limits. It is my unceasing aim to capture these elements in the one single moment and the one unique picture. To me it is always a great and special challenge to work with persons moving in front of my camera without shyness and shield. In order to achieve this, you need a lot of sensitivity and understanding behind the camera. I am incredibly proud that my models trust me and endow me with their openness, since it is only in a trusting cooperation between model and photographer that wonderful and special images can happen. It is my aim to capture the magical moment in every photo shooting. For this purpose, I will plan everything that can be planned beforehand, so I will be able to concentrate on the model and his/her movements 100 per cent during the shooting.

There is nothing more transient than the «one moment». With my images, I want to create memories that can be felt and experienced time and again from these special moments.
