about Icelandic Selkie
Female
Icelandic art model based in Reykjavík. Selkie derives her name from the Nordic lores of shapeshifting seal women who shed their seal skin and walk on land in human form, making them creatures of two worlds. Folklore plays a part in her artwork and she loves exploring different elements of traditional mediums in art and artistic expression through movement.
However, her main focus is the deep connection between the human form and nature, predominantly the fast-disappearing glaciers.
Nature has always been her refuge and Selkie has conditioned herself to pose in extreme conditions and harsh environments as a way of creating meaningful art with these ancient landscapes, as a way of preserving them, and cherishing the connection by becoming one with mother nature.
With over a decade of experience under her belt both as a wilderness guide and art model in Iceland she shares an equal love for exploring new landscapes, adventuring, and creating nude art with like-minded people.
Like the selkies she draws her inspiration from, she fully embraces her wild nature and the connection to the two worlds art and nature.
