Ralph Hassenpflug studied European literature in Germany and France. He was born in West Germany and emigrated to the United States in 2002.
He regularly presents his work in national and international shows, has been selected for the Italian VOGUE portfolio and is a featured artist in Stone Voices Magazine and Still Point Arts Quarterly. He has been published by Maine Art Scene Magazine and has been accepted into the prestigious Visual Narrative exhibition and the Mobile Photography show at the Minneapolis Photo Center. His work has recently been shown at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO, the Lightbox Gallery in Astoria, OR, the Kiernan Gallery in VA, the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, VT, the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, TX, the New Century Artists Gallery in NYC, the ViewPoint Gallery in Halifax, Canada, the PH21 Gallery in Budapest, Hungary and the Southeast Center for Photography. He is also featured by LensCulture and is a finalist of Critical Mass 2015 by PhotoLucida. He is a winner of the International Moscow Photo Awards 2015 and his work is shown by the Open Shutter Gallery in Durango, CO.

Hassenpflug's book on sacred places of Brittany, France, was published by Shanti Arts in 2014.

Ralph is a creator of dreamlike images. He offers workshops in Maine and in Europe for the individual development of photographic vision.
