His Great Grandfather was a professor of photographic illustrations at the University of Utah and worked with George Eastman to design and develop the first color camera. John’s Grandfather was an avid photographer and used photography in his field of horticulture to teach people around the world how to better their productions and his mother was a professional portrait photographer.
John naturally took to photography and started learning how to use the camera at a young age. As his skills grew he began to be asked by his friends to shoot for them. Weddings, Birthday parties and baby pictures were some of his first jobs as a professional photographer. Soon he was being approached by businesses and magazines who wanted his particular views and skills. Corporations started asking him to do work on their trade magazines and brochures.
John shot film up until the digital revolution began and made the transition to digital when the technology was of good enough quality to meet the demands of his clients. The long days of shooting film and working in the darkroom processing film were over. Digital photography has given John a new avenue for creativity.
